Refining her craftsmanship of sewing for almost a decade, Elise Garcia is passionate in the power even the smallest details of costuming and fashion have in storytelling, characterization, and performance. She is especially entranced by the technical depth of garment construction. Elise has worked as a firsthand stitcher, cutter/draper, assistant designer, wardrobe supervisor for the University of California Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz Shakespeare, Marin Theater, and for film.

Through theater (University and local), film, other projects, and she works excitedly as a team in costume shops, wardrobe, and closely with designers to creatively materialize the magic of their vision. As a Filipina-Cuban artist, she feels it is vital to use her love for sewing and the arts to support authentic artistic expression and untold narratives.
